Face workout by Mia is a program of face exercises which is a result of many years of studying face massage, face anatomy and face exercises. We have more than 50 muscles on our face, which are attached directly to the skin and we can exercise all of them. Once you work those muscles they gain volume.

Face workout is a natural way of looking and feeling younger and healthier.

If you want to look and feel glowing and healthy then Face workout is for you. It’s never too late to start. At any age you can lift and tone a muscle, boost circulation, stimulate lymphatic drainage and relax any tension build-up in the face and neck. It is never too early to start a Face workout either.

I can recommend you take a picture of your face before starting with the program and then take a picture every month for comparison. You will see noticeable results very soon. Please contact me if you need my assistance at [email protected]

Yes – the beauty of the Face workout by Mia program is that it can be practiced in combination with other facial treatments. However, since Botox suppresses your facial muscle movements, it can be hard to move your face muscles right after the treatment. Wait for 4 weeks after Botox or filler treatments until starting with the exercises. If you feel any discomfort consult your physician.

Yes, you can access the program on any laptop or mobile device through any browser at any given time of the day, as long as your subscription is valid.

Face workout by Mia team is always there for you to answer any question regarding our Face workout program. If you have any technical issues with accessing your videos or any other concerns regarding the exercises, we will be happy to help you solve them.

Once a day, three to four times a week for the first three months, will give a perfect foundation. Giving the face two days off to rest once a week is also seemingly important for a couple of reasons. One, you won’t stop doing the exercises because the demand to workout is too much, and number two, it “seems” (no scientific back-up here… just our observation), the face and the neck do better when they have a little weekly rest from the face workout. The build on the face and neck seems to be more elegant, firm and balanced when the tissue has time to recover with this time off. The days you exercise can be distributed any way you like during the week. Just be sure you always take at least two days off out of the seven days … either together or not, it’s up to you!

  • Under the age of 32, exercise only 2 or 3 times a week
  • Between the ages of 32 and 42, exercise 3 times a week and on the other days do face massage
  • Over the age of 42, exercise 3 to 4 times a week and on the other days do face massage or face meditation

As time passes by and your muscles are getting stronger, you will have to do fewer trainings just to maintain the results. After one year of training, you can start with 2-3 times a week of exercising, focusing on a specific area of interest.

Before a face workout, clean your skin and apply moisturizer or face oil before doing a face workout. Correct application of all skin care products is important. Using gentle upward circular movements, lightly massage the moisturizer or face oil into your face. Do not pull your skin!

Once you subscribe you will have access to the Face workout by Mia videos.

  • There are two basic Face workouts with 35 and the other one with 25 exercises for working the more than 50 muscles of face and neck. You perform this workout 2-3 times a week.
  • There are partial trainings for the specific area (mouth, neck, jowls, nasolabial folds, eyes, forehead etc.) which you perform 2 times a week.
  • There are also videos for face massage which you use on those days you do not workout your face muscles.
  • It is very important to relax facial muscles so there must be one day of “rest” when you do not perform face exercises. On those days the face massage or face mediration is beneficial for relaxing the muscles.

It is necessary to tighten the muscle first!

That’s a good question. When you go for a body massage, are you worried that your skin will
wrinkle or sag? Of course not. The same applies to the skin of the face and neck. Pulling the skin
and sliding on it apparently stimulates the production of collagen, which makes the skin more
elastic and firm. When you work out in the gym, the skin tightens around the contracting muscles.
The same thing happens on the face and neck, even to a greater extent than on the body. One of
the secrets of this exercise system is sliding precisely over the skin above the contracted muscle,
which we call muscle training with resistance. In doing so, you are NOT stretching the skin but
sliding OVER it, which strengthens the muscle fibres and shortens and shapes the muscles that
tighten the skin.

Shaped muscles tighten the skin

Since the muscles of the face are directly connected to the skin, which allows us to express
emotions with our face, the skin is tightened by shaping the muscles. And by tightening and
strengthening the muscles, the depth of the wrinkles is reduced. That is why the program of these
exercises includes the technique of “Erasing wrinkles by massaging” which softens them by
making them shallower and wider. With this technique, it is possible to almost completely remove
wrinkles.

The structure of the face is not exactly the same as that of other parts of the body. Muscles, elastic
fibres and connective tissue, including the subcutaneous layer of fat, are intertwined on the face.
The bones of the skull are flat and cannot be stimulated by facial exercises in the same way as the
bones of other parts of the body. For example, by lifting weights it is possible to stimulate the
bones of the body, but the bones of the face cannot be restored in the same way. When exercising
the face, several things go in our favour, and here’s why:

Facial exercises improve muscle tone and help restore the strength of facial bones when pressure
is applied correctly
Exercising the muscles does not create elastic fibres, but their use improves circulation and thus
the supply of nutrients to the surrounding tissue. This creates a favourable environment for the
formation of new elastic fibres
Stretched elastic fibres that break cannot be restored, but the body always creates new elastic
fibres and thus replenishes their number
The body continues to produce proteins that make up elastic fibres
Newly created elastic fibres support the shape we have at the time of their formation, which means
that if your face and neck are shapely and in good condition, the new elastic fibres will take on that
firmer, tighter and more youthful shape as they grow.
Therefore, with facial exercises you can look even more beautiful over time, and your face can take
on a younger and firmer appearance.

With the program of basic  Face workout by Mia video exercises you will experience “rejuvenation leaps”.
About every three months you will look a little younger. These “rejuvenation leaps” will continue
during the first few years of workouts. Yes, years! Then it will appear as if they occur somewhat
less often, but they will continue. One of the reasons why this happens is now clear to us. Constant
exercise of the muscles and surrounding connective tissue of the face and neck supports elastic
fibres that are created adopting the form of shaped and firmer muscles. Over time, your face
literally takes on a firmer, tighter and healthier look!

The bigger the muscles, the tighter the skin

Exercising the muscles with resistance strengthens the muscle fibres and tightens the skin. With
ageing, the layer of fat that is located just below the surface of the skin disappears. Losing that fat
is one of the reasons we look older and tired as we age. This is probably the main cause of
sagging facial skin. Facial exercises increase muscle mass, which makes the face look fuller and
younger. While isometric activity shapes the face, neck and skin, which is also included in the Face
fitness by Mia exercise program, it cannot reshape the face like resistance muscle training.

Healthier skin is another result of practicing Face fitness by Mia exercises

Muscle contraction accelerates blood circulation up to ten times. By exercising the face, skin cells
are supplied with a greater amount of oxygen and nutrients. Damaged cells are removed. The
result is clean and healthy, beautiful skin. One end of a facial muscle is attached to a bone and the
other directly to another muscle or skin. This enables the creation of facial expressions. This also
means that the skin tightens and takes on its youthful shape by shaping the muscles. The muscles
of the body are usually attached to the bones at both ends. This is why the results of strengthening
the muscles on the face and neck are seen faster than on the rest of the body.

Lymph nodes under the eyes

There are small lymph nodes under each eye. Applying six eye exercises from the basic Face
workout by Mia program stimulates the lymph nodes, from which toxins and old, damaged cells that
may be hidden in these places, are flushed out. If toxins and damaged cells are not washed away,
this condition is the main cause of not only fluid retention, but also the formation of dark circles
under the eyes. Ten times more oxygen is delivered to the contracting muscle. Therefore, eye
exercises improve the overall health of the eyes and the skin around the eyes.

Erase dark circles and bags under the eyes

With facial exercises, you can remove old damaged cells and get rid of dark circles under the eyes
and their puffiness. Since the muscle is attached directly to the skin of the face, it is tightened by
shaping the muscle and it retains its youthful shape, and the entire area around the eyes becomes
smoother, tighter and firmer. Wrinkled skin under the eyes is smoothed out and looks fuller.

Use eye creams only

Unlike other places on the face, the skin around the eyes does not contain sebaceous glands,
which is why it is very important to use a cream designed specifically for the eye area.

Properly formed muscles are key

Our goal is to shape the muscles properly. Muscles have optimal length when they are properly
toned in relation to their axis or centre. As they develop, they become bigger and stronger. Muscles
grow when they overcome resistance. In order to have a well-shaped face, it is necessary for your
muscles to regain their original length that they have lost due to ageing, gravity or other
circumstances, usually the natural environment such as the harmful effects of the sun. A firm face
looks healthy and youthful.

The muscles are attached to two bones, and sometimes from one side to the bone, and from the
other directly to the skin of the face. In the Western culture where we show emotions to a large

extent with our faces and actually express ourselves constantly with our faces, we are prone to
creating wrinkles on our skin. Wrinkles are not created in the muscles, but in the subcutaneous
layer. We can compare it to creating creases on cardboard; constant repetition of a certain facial
expression creates folds in our subcutaneous tissue, that is, wrinkles on the face.

Deep wrinkles are formed when the skin becomes trapped in the subcutaneous tissue. Whenever
the muscle contracts, the wrinkle is drawn in and a depression is created. By exercising using the
Face workout by Mia program, you actually apply a technique that releases the wrinkle trapped in
the tissue, and in this way you can literally smooth out finer wrinkles and make deeper ones less
noticeable. In addition, you apply endurance training to the muscles that are strengthened by
overcoming the resistance of the face and neck, which results in a youthful appearance because
the muscle fibres are strengthened and the skin is tightened.

To achieve the best results, it is necessary to perform the basic program of exercises. Basic program is targeting more than 50 muscles on the face and neck.

After extensive research, I found that performing the basic  exercises (lasting 20-30 minutes) three
to five times a week during the first three months provides an ideal basis for later adding further
exercises (if necessary, I can arrange this in individual consultations). A two-day break from
exercise once a week is also necessary for several reasons.
Firstly, so that you don’t give up on exercise because it seems too demanding, and secondly, it
seems that the face and neck benefit from a weekly rest from exercise. The face and neck seem to
be shaped more elegantly and balanced and become more toned when their tissues are given rest
time to recover (after all, as with any other muscle training on the body). You can arrange the
training days in the week as you wish. The only rule is not to perform exercises at least two days a
week. Rest days may or may not follow each other.

– people under the age of 32 should exercise 2 or 3 times a week
– people aged 32 to 42 should exercise 3 times a week and on the other days face massage to relax the muscles
– people older than 42 should exercise 3 to 5 times a week and on the other days face massage and face meditation to relax the muscles

When exercising, we use moisturising cream and, if necessary, apply it again during exercise.

Another reason why Face workout by Mia facial exercises are so effective is that the exercises are
performed by first tightening the muscle and then gliding over the skin with the fingers. This
technique was used by Dr. Frederick Rossiter and it brought a new solution for facial shaping. His
book “Face Culture” was published in the 1970s. In it, Dr. Rossiter explains that muscles permeate
the skin, thanks to which we can show facial expressions. Therefore, if we first tighten the muscle,
and then run our fingers over the skin, pressing it, we not only build muscle fibres, but by shaping
the muscles, we also tighten the skin. It’s a great resistance-based muscle workout. Dr. Rossiter invented this technique of tightening the muscles and sliding the fingers over the tightened muscle. I am now using this technique in my Face workout by Mia exercise program.
